The rugged and brawny, fourth generation Jeep Wrangler will make its debut on Indian roads by February, 2015 and will be priced in the Rs. 25 – 32 lakhs range. The SUV will be available in the 2 doors and four doors variant and will have two engine options, the 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine and the more powerful 3.6 litre petrol engine. The engine, which is much bigger than what the Wrangler actually needs, makes off-roading smoother. The best in class ground clearance of Jeep Wrangler helps reduce the struggle of driving on uneven terrain. The trail rated traction system makes it an exciting drive on snow covered roads, sand dunes and muddy tracks. Like its first avatar, the Wrangler will have the seven vertical slat design on its front grille, circular headlamps and a large front bumper. The interiors are functional so that off-roading isn’t a challenge.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz:
When talking about the Indian car market, one cannot ignore the leader, Maruti. The auto major’s much talked about ‘Ciaz’ will hit showrooms by mid-October. Priced in the range of Rs. 7- 10 lakhs, the Ciaz is a mid-size sedan, which will replace the SX4. Maruti’s latest offering will be available in manual transmission 1.4 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel variants, with an optional petrol automatic transmission. The Ciaz is a tempting option with fuel efficiency figures of 26.21 kmpl for the diesel and 20.73 kmpl for the petrol version, as claimed by Maruti. In terms of design, it is more streamlined and classy compared to the SX4. The Ciaz will be loaded with an automatic climatronicAC,Bluetooth enabled audio unit with steering mounted audio controls. The instrumentation cluster offers elegant two dial setup and the rear seats come equipped with AC louvers. The market will soon be flooded with the latest 4-wheeler models.
