He may have the perfect six pack abs today, but this was always not the case with actor Arjun Kapoor. The 30-year-old was once an overweight teenager weighing not less than a whopping 140 kilos! It was 4 years before his 2012-Bollywood debut, Ishaqzaade that he decided to get fit. Here are some fitness tips on how to lose weight from the gym freak himself:
1. Got Inspired By Salman Khan:
Yes! The “Dabangg” star served as a source of inspiration for Arjun, who went on to fight the rigorous battle with body fat for the next couple of years. Those sculpted muscles and the chiseled physique didn’t come by easy. The Kapoor lad once mentioned that according to Khan he could be an actor if he shed weight. There was no looking back for Arjun after that!
2. A Strict Workout Regime:
Losing the flab was tough. Arjun’s daily regime included dead lifts, bench press, Cross Fit training, circuit training, and cardio exercises to name a few- all the most effective gym exercises for men. Four years of disciplined sessions in the gym helped Arjun shed all the fat he had been carrying since his teenage.

3. Eating Healthy:
Hitting the gym was not the only solution forgetting a lean body. It also meant eating right and in the right proportions. He started following a highly-nutritious menu for the three meals of the day. Protein shakes after a workout became a must. Arjun skipped consuming sweets or carbs, which are not healthy foods for men. White rice was replaced with South American grain, Quinoa and instead of sugar the actor started having fresh fruits.
4. Patience Is Key:
From being a stocky guy to becoming an actor with a well-chiseled frame, Arjun has definitely come a long way. Time and again, he has emphasized on ‘never giving up’ and living through each day, one day at a time. Arjun has, at times, even taken to Instagram to post ‘Before-After’ pictures of his fit body to inspire others!
So yes, losing 50 kilos is not easy and certainly doesn’t happen overnight. But Arjun made it possible due his undeterred will and determination, and so can you. All you need is a perfectly suited diet for men of your body type and age, and you’ll be on your way!
