So the ninth season of Indian Premier League (IPL) has kick started with aplomb and splendour. The season has welcomed two new franchises, the Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants from Rajkot and Pune respectively. The teams are a replacement of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) – both of which have been suspended till 2017.
Apart from the major development, everything else is the same, especially for fans: The excitement, the craze and the never-ending support for their favourite teams. While the game is important for the players, food also holds a significant spot in their lives. Have a look:
1. MS Dhoni:
The ex-CSK champion is now playing for Pune and he is as strong headed and calm as he always is this year as well. The “super cool” captain is a mad fan of kebabs, chicken butter masala with naan and chicken tikka pizza (Yup, that’s a thing too!). Do you know his favourite drink is? It is milk.
2. David Warner:
He may be the Sunrise Hyderabad captain, but David Warner is a man with simple pleasures and taste and doesn’t have a particularly long list of favourite foods, except for one thing: Chicken avocado sandwich. He can’t get enough of it!
3. Shahid Afridi:
Even though he is not a part of IPL anymore, the ex-Deccan Charger Pakistani blaster is known for his love for the basic chicken biryani, kheer and ice-cream!

4. Rohit Sharma:
The Mumbai Indians captain played extremely well in the last match – MI vs. KKR and even led to MI’s first win this season. The young player can’t get enough of chinese. According to him, the best part is that there are plenty of chinese restaurants near his house, so he can indulge whenever he wants to. He also loves hot chocolate.
5. Kevin Pietersen:
He may be considering an international cricket career as a part of the South African team, but that doesn’t stop him for binging on English goodies. He loves shepherd’s pie, burgers and salads. The Sauvignon blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand is his favourite wine and he also loves Biltong, a South African meal.

Given they work so hard and try to put up their best performance in every match, they surely deserve a lavish spread every now and then. What do you think?
