TV Shows From 90s We Would Love To Watch Again

Remember the days of good old television? The times when the story lines actually had some meaning and actors were just superb and their characters were so relatable? It was the famous 1990s and we couldn’t have been more nostalgic about that decade!

From hard-hitting Hindi dramas to funny comedy serials Indian television had a lot to offer to its growing audience. Even the West was broadcasting “classic” hilarious programmes.

We at MGA have hand-picked 4 comedies we feel you’ll sure love to watch on repeat:

1. Dekh Bhai Dekh:

We are sure as soon as you read this its starting song automatically started playing in your head. Right? Well, that’s the kind of impact “Dekh Bhai Dekh” left on us. Did you know this Jaya Bachchan-produced sitcom is the first commercially successful program on Indian television?

No wonder even after its multiple re-runs on DD, it was aired on Sony TV and SAB TV till 2005! A lot has to do with its power-packed star cast too which included the likes of Sushma Seth, Shekhar Suman, Deven Bhojani and Amar Upadhyay.

2. F.R.I.E.N.D.S.:

If haven’t watched it ever, you are crazy. If you have watched it but never liked it, you are even crazier. In our opinion, it is impossible to not like F.R.I.E.N.D.S.! Chandler Bing’s sarcasm, genuinely dumb Joey Tribbiani, dominating and persuasive Monica Geller, quirks and antics of Phoebe Buffay, the bratty Rachel Greene and palaeontologist Ross Geller these characters are unforgettable!

This sitcom made hanging out in a cafe with friends look cool! Everyone wanted a “Central Perk” in their locality.

3. Tu Tu Main Main:

Directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar, this sitcom was about constant bickering between a mother and her daughter-in-law. The plot was majorly filled with mundane situations laced with some quirk and wit of both the leading characters, Reema Lagoo and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

The show originally aired on DD National. Then it also played on Star Plus. “Tu Tu Main Main” definitely belongs to that era when comedy was actually comedy and not just 30-miuntes of forced laughter.

4. Seinfeld:

This sitcom was about four people who perceived themselves to be “decent” but were, in fact, terrible people committing misanthropy every single day! “Seinfeld” has been rerun and syndicated a lot of times since its76-million viewer finale 16 years ago!

Even today, it’s hilarious no matter how times you have seen each episode. That’s the magic of “Seinfeld”!
